"Doc Pilots": Our doctoral candidates' support service

Do you need help in finding accommodation?

Do you need support in dealing with the city administration, banks and insurances? Would you like help with planning your childcare?

Do you have other questions and are looking for a contact person - maybe even prior to your arrival here in Kiel?

Our doc pilots are happy to help you!

Doctoral candidates derive many advantages from being offered individual personal support at the beginning and then during their doctoral studies. Apart from preparing their doctoral studies they also have to organize the various details of living in a foreign city. Our doc pilots are local graduate students with extensive experience in academic and non-academic matters and offer their support to help make the transition to the CAU easier and less complicated.

The personal contact with our doc pilots can help with adjusting to the local academic structures and with becoming a member of the social communities at the university. They organize social events for doctoral candidates from abroad and from Germany to foster networking among graduate students from different subjects. Information on upcoming social events can be found  here.
