Content:

Condense your complex research findings for conferences or your oral doctoral defense - hands on training with many exercises

The goal of this training is to prepare and develop your own academic presentation.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Convince your audience with well-structured slides and presentations
  • Condense your complex research findings to the short time-span of a presentation
  • Save time and effort crafting easy to-grasp slides
     

Important:

This training focuses on the logic of good presentations. It does not cover the use of presentation software like PowerPoint or LibreOffice!

Parts:

  • In the theoretical part, you will learn conceptual techniques for structuring complex information logically and for designing easy to-grasp slides and presentations
  • In the practical part, you will then apply these techniques to your very own academic presentation
  • By the end of the training, you will get a complete draft of your very own academic presentation so that you can finalize it with manageable effort


Requirements:

You only need to bring pen and paper for this training, no laptops.

Registration:

Registrations are welcome until 22 September 2019 via our online portal. We will then determine whether the minimum number of 7 participants has been reached. Should the minimum number of participants not have been reached, the event will not take place due to financial reasons. Once the minimum number of participants has been reached, further registrations are possible until 8 days previous to the beginning of the event.

Please note:

There are 14 places on this course. The persons that can participate in the course will receive an e-mail from the Graduate Center. Without this confirmation mail you cannot participate in the course. Only participants that have registered for the course via the Graduate Center will receive a certificate of attendance.

All further registrations will be placed on a waiting list. As soon as there is a free place on the course you will receive a message from us. If you do not receive any message you cannot participate in this course.
